Baking "found" me more than 12 years ago while I was working in the Communications field longing to determine what I really wanted to do with my life. Like many bakers, I was inspired by the superior baking skills of my own mother and grandmother and I tried my own hand at it just as a hobby. I was hooked immediately. |
I quit my office job and enrolled in culinary school at L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, MD, which has been rated one of the top 10 culinary schools in the United States and Canada. I received my certificate in pastry in 2003 and have been operating Sweet & Savory since 2005, offering primarily wedding and celebration cakes.
The look and the taste of your cake is equally important. I believe the old adage that "no one eats the wedding cake" and that the cake is meant to be beautiful but not necessarily tasty has long since passed. I'm privileged to be invited to take part in such important milestones in my clients' lives, and I work hard to exceed your expectations.
